Practical Guidance

Admissions & Tips

Documents Needed

Typically required for international school admission: child's birth certificate, passport copy, previous school reports and transcripts, immunisation records, and parent's Employment Pass or Residence Pass. Some schools require a placement assessment or interview, particularly for older students.

School Transport

Most international schools in the area do not provide school buses to Cyberjaya residential areas. Private van or bus services (school vans) can be arranged through the school or independently — typically RM 200–400 per month. Carpooling among MSC company employees in the same residential area is common.

Employer Education Allowance

Many MSC Malaysia companies, particularly multinationals, include an education allowance as part of the expatriate package — typically covering 80–100% of international school fees. Confirm this with your HR department before selecting a school, as it significantly affects which fee bracket is affordable.

National Schools

Malaysia's national (government) schools are free and open to expatriate children. Instruction is primarily in Bahasa Malaysia. For children who are already fluent or for short-term assignments where fees are not covered, national schools are a viable option and provide an immersive cultural experience.
